For the first time ever, Australian cosmic black metal band Midnight Odyssey will be performing their first ever live shows across Europe this September. Formed in 2007, and with influences as diverse as the 90s Scandinavian black metal scene, doom metal, kosmische musik and neo-classical, sole member Dis Pater has forged his own path in creating musical soundscapes fused in the cold and dark realms of space and the ruins of the past. From the first release "The Forest Mourners" in 2008, Midnight Odyssey set out to create a sound drenched in atmosphere, melancholy, and otherworldliness.

Midnight Odyssey:
Midnight Odyssey was officially formed in early 2007. Originally from Ipswich, west of Brisbane, Dis Pater, began writing black metal oriented music in 1999, and home recorded many songs between the years 2001 and 2007. Though these recordings were never officially pressed (and never will be), they led to a creative output that would eventually cement itself as Midnight Odyssey.

Dis Pater has taken influences from a wide range of music, from black metal, doom metal, neo-classical and dark ambient music, electronic music, classical/early music and folk. Some bands highlighted by Dis Pater as major influences include Bathory, Burzum, Emperor, In The Woods, Gehenna, Limbonic Art, Katatonia, My Dying Bride, Dead Can Dance, Tangerine Dream, Arcana, Lycia, The Sisters of Mercy and The Cure.

ARKÆON is a black metal power trio consisting of three genre veterans of the more extreme edges of jutlandian metal and experimental music; Christian Søegaard, Antonius Lovmand and Nils Brem, each previously involved in numerous diverse projects including Tongues, Muspellzheimr, Ærkenbrand, NVLVS, Gespenst and many more.

The music of ARKÆON is hectic, raw and complex, moving through lengthy experimental compositions seeking to draw out a more extreme, mystical character from the current landscape of danish metal- A frenzied cacophony driven by rapid tempo and anchored by technically refined melodicism.

Their debut LP “Parasit” was released via I, Voidhanger Records and will be promoted during live touring in 2023.
