OTOOTO:
“Our mission is to reflect the modern society and put a sound to its vibrations. And through this sound we seek to transmit purity, love and joy”
The danish indie jazzband OTOOTO (Japanese for “sound-sound”) was established in late 2019 by trumpeter and composer Jonas Due. He gathered this group of some of the most exiting young voices in the danish jazz scene with a vision of reframing the term “modern jazz quintet”. After only a month the band went into the studio to record a number of tracks including what became their first single Bulk/No Compass. During the spring of 2020 OTOOTO took the shape of a collaborative project involving Oilly Wallace (sax) as a composing figure in the band. In the summer of the same year OTOOTO played an impressive number of streaming and live shows coupled with the release of three singels. Their hyperactive outlet quickly gained attention from broadcasting stations, music critics, venues etc.. In September they signed a contract with record label April Records and danish booking agency InMusic. In November OTOOTO played a full live concert on danish national broadcasting station (P8) as a conclusion of a week in the studio recording their debut album “This Love Is For You” (released may 21st 2021). The album quickly got acclaim from national and international critics witch resulted in a great number of shows all over the country over the summer. In July this year OTOOTO entered the studio to record their 2nd album “Dosage”. The album digs even deeper into the manifest of the band and feature a number of collaborations with rapper E. Brown and Indie-pop artist Lucky Lo.

+ Support: Koshi Waza
