Weedpecker [PL] + Special Guests: Vokonis [S] + Sonic Moon

Weedpecker:
Weedpecker was born in Warsaw circa 2012, when the Dobry bros' (Wyro and Barn'dos) decided to match their dreamy psychedelic rock tunes with some stoner heavy grungy riffingg...soon joined the drummer Falon, who plays also for ultraslow doomers '"Belzebong'". After the summer of 2012 the lineup was completed with the Spanish bassist Jeso, who was earlier in some extreme acts like "Looking For An Answer" and "Antigama". In April 2013 Weedpecker came out with their first self titled album "Weedpecker" and since then, they have been promoting it supporting bands like Elder, Naam or Mars Red Sky.

In 2014, Jeso was replaced by Mroku and the group began writing material for their second full length. The resulting album, "II", was recorded in February 2015 by Satanic Audio and was released in April... And then once upon 'a time'a, Mroku and Falon was replaced with Karol and Kuyks, and the story goes'..

+ Special Guests: Vokonis + Sonic Moon

Sonic Moon

Sonic Moon was formed in fall of 2016 by Jeppe Rasmussen, Emil Damgaard Andersen, Emil Klinkby and Oliver Lyngkilde. The first songs were composed in a cold and decrepit house in a suburban city near Aarhus, DK, where the members connected through a common love for stoner and psychedelic rock, admiring bands like Electric Wizard, Kyuss, Corrosion of Conformity and Monolord.

Sonic Moon is the sound of Kevin Starrs meeting Josh Homme on an acid trip in the dark Scandinavian winter. It is heavy guitar-riffs, drowned in fuzz and delay, carried through by a swaying drum- and bass-section, complimented by a raw and melodic vocal. The lyrics consume the remaining light, and touches subjects like nihilism, sorrow and anger.

The band went to the studio in the summer of 2017 to record their first single, Lost Faces, which was well acclaimed, and became “Månedens Uhørt” in the danish music magazine “GAFFA”.

After another recording, this time for the acoustic song “Among Sheep”, the band was ready to record their debut EP.

“In Orbit” was released in October of 2018. It was recorded in Dead Rat Studios by Jacob Bredahl (Livløs, Møl).

The band went on a Spring-tour in Denmark, as part of the release of “In Orbit”. Here they visited venues like SPOT-festival in Aarhus and Kedelhuset in Silkeborg.

After finishing the tour, Sonic Moon went back to their rehearsal room to write new material. In December 2019 the band released their second EP “Usually I Don’t Care For Flowers”. The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered in correlation with a good friend of the band, Frederik Toftgaard (Lumine).

“Usually I Don’t Care For Flowers” was recorded in Sonic Moons dank rehearsal studio with a DIY-approach, which provided the EP with a characteristic and raw sound which lead to a critically acclaimed production.

Today the band consists of the five members Jeppe Rasmussen (Guitar), Emil Damgaard Andersen (Guitar), Emil Klinkby (Drums), Niclas Fritz Sørensen (Bass) and Oliver Lyngkilde (Vocals).
