With potent honesty and a daring temper, Sasha Adrians confessional indie-rock takes the listener into the corners of the human experience. Her lyrics deal with unconventional themes such as violence, betrayal and the difficulty of self-love. The EP explores her relationship with herself and her body and the way it affects her place in the world. Trauma has a way of welding itself in the body, and the songs have been a way for her to separate herself from certain experiences, giving them a life outside the body, and creating new space in an otherwise crowded mind. In between songs of darkness, her dry humor and empathetic spirit casts a light into the audience and creates a connection with room for individuality, emotion and community.

In October 2023 her debut EP ‘Token’ will be released on Celebration Records. ’Token’ is in essence exactly that, a token. A token carrying memories, good and bad, from years full of change and turmoil. Creating a token has been both mournful and liberating in the sense that Sasha Adrian in the process has begun to let go of that which has been holding her down.

Sasha Adrian recorded the EP in the fall of 2022 with producer Christoffer Hørbo and her live band. In the process she experimented with ways to manipulate and push the boundaries of her sound. Influenced by the likes of Snail Mail, Phoebe Bridgers and Julia Jacklin, her sound echoes her generation’s need for giving voice to even the shyest of truths.
