Crushing Swedish sludge duo from the deepest, nastiest recesses of Gothenburg!
Since its formation in 2008, Danish metal combo RISING has been one of the most promising and uncompromising acts on the metal scene, both locally and internationally. The band has displayed their relentless, crushing sound, fierce musicianship and a strong sense for melody and songwriting on first two DIY EP’s and then their two full length albums “To Solemn Ash” (2011) and “Abominor” (2013). The band has been touring extensively throughout Europe and playing festival such as Roskilde (DK), Copenhell (DK) and Hultsfred (SE). After the recording of “Abominor” the trio dissolved, leading guitarist, songwriter and main force Jacob Krogholt to form a new line-up of the band while commencing songwriting for the band’s next album.
RISING has now recorded 11 new songs for the yet untitled album, and the new material is undeniably RISING, filled with the crushing heaviness and melodic sensibilities that are the continuous trademarks of the band. RISING’s third album is expected to be released in the spring of 2016, backed by touring in DK and abroad. As for now, the band is hard at work finalizing the album, but are planning a few Danish comeback shows in November after the album recordings, which will mark the first live appearances of RISING in two and a half years.
Swedish Doom/Sludge Metal trio from Jönköping, Sweden. In 2012 they released a home-recorded demo on Bandcamp for free and immediately gained attention from Belgium-based indie record label ConSouling Sounds. Since then they’ve gone on two smaller Europe tours, played with acts like Kongh and Ocean Chief and recorded and released the full-length “Storm” on vinyl and CD. Recently Metal Base India, the largest webzine about metal in India had them on their “best of 2014” list.
ZAUM is a passage toward the dark realizations of the ancient middle east; in the form of a monolithic doomy mantra based meditative experience forged by bass and drums interwoven by sitar and synth textures. Based in New Brunswick – their live presence is very true to its recorded form featuring McDonald’s both melodic and dark vocal styles met with elements of sectional Mongolian throat singing. Observers experience a calming process of reality whereby the astral and physical planes can co-exist and be understood from a natural perspective.
